Im 40 yrs old and I have not sat and watched The Color Purple in full …
The pieces I saw as a kid traumatized me so frikn bad lol
It’s too much ..it was actually remade this year I haven’t seen that either…
But I do enjoy that scene ..she was a preachers daughter and he wanted her to sing in his church but she loved Jazz and wanted to be with the musicians at the pubb…
But she really wanted her father’s approval but he disowned her …
Until that day in that scene lol 💗

Bro…I used to get the whole back row of whatever aisle I sat on pinched by this lady who was supposed to keep the kids in order

She had long azz nails and used to pinch tf out of us if we were “bad”….
I used to start numerous laugh chains of everybody 😩
Some stuff in church used to be extremely funny especially to a child
Like this one day they let some older man go up there to sing and he sounded crazy as hell and I tried ..GOD knows I tried not to laugh but I couldn’t contain my laughter and then all the kids started laughing and we got pinched soooo hard 😭😭😭

Our pastor used to always make me sing at church..I’ve been singing since I was a little little girl…
I was never shy ..I used to be up there …. 🎤
I’ve had some gooood days ….

Buuut..when I look around
