first half is free, can upload the rest if anyone wants it.

Prince thinks a mercenary force outcompetes a national standing military in every metric, compares Blackwater to the East India Company and thinks the best way to 'create stability' is to use relatively small, well-equipped mercenary bands to take control of resources and draw manpower away from enemies by offering to let the fighters work the mines for a 20% pay rise.

    more when I finish

Disney and Amazon should be allowed to have standing armies. Let's go full cyberpunk.

'cause I'm sorry: the Mickey Brigade is going to outshoot Blackwater every time. The McSpecialForces would fuck on Wagner so hard it's embarrassing. PMCs are a stopgap measure for a world too cowardly to embrace full scale corporate militarism.

that's ridiculous, Disney's eating itself as a media company because they're more interested in political messaging than they are in producing quality media. what do you think happens if they employ a bunch of people with guns?

Farfour eats Mickey's face off his dead body, that's what.

oh yeah Prince tries to sell his privacy-focused phone halfway through, lol.

he also thinks Blackwater could've won Afghanistan for 5% of the upkeep cost of the US Military mission.

the guy makes some interesting points but he doesn't even touch on how mercenary armies would function in a peer or near-peer military encounter; every example they talk about is small groups of mercs with extreme fire superiority defeating retarded African militaries (in the Bush war, Rhodesian infantry kept finding rifles with the rear sight dialed to the max, to the point where you couldn't even call it direct fire. when they asked prisoners why, it was because they thought dialing it up 'made the bullets shoot harder').

he's basically just a capitalist, individualist America First kind of guy but more open to bands of mercenaries and pirates being accountable only to themselves... so long as they're 'the good guys'.

That's ridiculous. America is eating itself as a nation because they're more interested in feel good political messaging than they are effectively governing. And yet they still command the strongest and most capable military on the planet. They employ a lot of people with guns. And people who can pilot aircraft carriers. And turn the keys at nuclear silos. What happens there? Same thing that happens if the House of Mouse gets armed. Money gets shit done.

Consider: who is going to merc at Blackwater if Disney's standing army pays twice as much? Not the most capable soldiers of fortune, that's who. The free market would result in billion dollar corporations having billion dollar armies. And I think that's beautiful.

last few nuclear missile tests failed. maybe balloons pop out?

you're suffering the same failure as Prince, money doesn't solve everything because a human is not just a walking stomach. there's more to the world than material wealth, and people tend to consider that more directly when they're risking death or trying to kill others.

You do software engineering stuff right alja? If anyone should understand the golden rule that is "big money attracts big talent", it should be someone in your industry. I'm talking about Silicon Valley corporate capitalism armed to the teeth with the latest and greatest the MIC has to offer. SpaceX, but for rockets that land on people's homes. Disney Death Squads washing away all resistance in a sea of blood. The Bezos Brigades winning the first armed Lunar conflict. Google GIs, not Google AGI. A glorious, bloody future.

Disney already has an intelligence agency. I imagine their standing army would be just as effective, if they wanted it to be.

Big Money attracts big talkers who are obsessed with status and have no problem lying and grifting.

SpaceX is a terrible argument for capitalism, it literally only exists thanks to government grants and contracts and spillover capital from TESLA from the same.

DISNEY is failing as a company even without getting into an industry where employees can bring automatic weapons to collective bargaining negotiations. Amazon became dominant because it was able to operate at a lower cost to almost all of its competitors.

Banks around the world will consolidate to become one mammoth bank that'll be our Lord of Banks. And so will all pharmaceuticals, big oils, food companies, telcos, armaments, and entertainment. They shall be our feudal lords with power and dominion over all of us.

Feudalism, of a capital kind, will be the future, irregardless of who and where you yourself align.

when every countries in the world are ruled by the same few banks and specialized coporations, peer or near-peer armed conflict would cease to happen because theres no longer a reason for corporations to spend that kind of money on that kind of adventure.

the only armed conflict that will arise will be armed conflict between different, competing zaibatshus for mineral extraction/production rights at home and abroad.

    armed conflict where PMCs excel.

    not true at all.

its because it managed to monopolize all the supply chain from producers in china to retailers in the US thru its online platform.

they only got into a position where it was possible because they were able to easily outcompete shops that had to have a physical presence, along with all the costs that go along with it
