Just got this game. Online was basically English kids being annoying. What is is all about? Just grabbing stuff and bringing it back to your spaceship?

I was playing it with a friend but windows is fucking up my microphone and it's hard/less amusing to play with just text. also he's an asshole who keeps locking me out of the ship and raging the bees.
you explore different moons and try to salvage stuff, need different tools and teamwork to explore different facilities and beat/evade the monsters
the main draw is the proximity chat; you can only hear people that are relatively nearby (unless you're using radios) and you don't get a warning when people die, they just go silent, so there's an element of suspense in finding out what happened to them. it's popular with streamers because fun/retarded things happen organically, so public games become AIDS because everyone forces the retard angle to try and be funny
