    Yes, I know they are Eastern European / Slavic, it just seems silly to not count them as western. They may not share the same values as other westerners, but that doesn't make them non-westerners. Even the Dutch government divides foreigners in "non-western" and "western" groups, and people from Poland would fall in the "western foreigner" group instead of the "non-western foreigner" group, which is meant for brown people like me.

    Well, I haven't spoken to many Polish people but the few I did speak to didn't identify as westerners themselves, so they would agree with you, but I just found it silly. They didn't even consider themselves to be white, which I found weird as well.
