The American government seemed more concerned about it than China. Looks can be deceiving. They will create fake controversy like this I think in an attempt to help their corporate Trojans gain the trust of places like Iran. I think Nokia had a hand in sabotaging their nuclear program after some such congressional disinfo nonsense. I don't think you should trust any Western company not to sell you out to the feds, but it was mostly them kvetching about it. And people talking about how they can spy on you but China I think uses Intel for government computers. Meanwhile China seemed unbothered. What's up with Intel AMT?

Because they aren't retards

I think people just don't understand what AMT is capable of.

The difference is China essentially operates as a corporation so they handle competition economically but the AmeriKKKan government is a Nazi bandit state and they respond to any perceived competition with radical worldwide reaching legislation and or military action
China won't invade Taiwan and rob their semiconductors, China has never done that. America is the #1 country for stealing from other countries so if you ask me they are just saying China will invade so they have a reason to invade first
Also there's all that American oil buried under China which is just racist for them to build cities on top of. That country needs a regime change like Gaddafi

Just dope all the semiconductors and fill their holes with electrons I don't see the big deal

Intel is basically an Israeli company.
The Israelis get away with what they do basically by being so cartoonishly evil that no one who wants to be taken seriously dares call them out for fear of looking like a paranoid conspiracy loon.
China wants to be taken seriously in the world.
Intel release AMT.
Amongst other things, it backdoors every AMT Intel processor, enabling arbitrary remote access, remote code execution, etc.
This is presented as a feature, not a bug.
China doesn't call out Intel AMT.
Everyone pretends everything is OK.
Everyone goes around still pretending to take each other seriously.

what are they going to do about it? think a strategic US company that relies on Taiwanese fab plants is going to care that China is complaining about their backdoors?
long-term they're working to build competitor chips
short-term you can force IME to crash at boot by overwriting some of its memory IIRC

Wait I thought we were talking about beta methyltryptamine
