after germany lost WWII, jedis crept back into the surrounding areas. unfortunately the technology of the time did not allow the nazis to make the wall airtight, and the smell of the gold within threw them into a frenzy, which led to the wall being torn down

the nazis had never seen such carnage. jedis left and right - first over the wall, then under, then right through it. to this day, the german people still mourn the great massacre of '89.

After going to war to ostensibly save Poland from 'muh dictatorship' England and America said lol fuck it, and let Stalin have it and the rest of the east of Europe as well. Because you know, freedom and shit. In glorious classless free soviet union, (((they))) built a big ass wall to keep all that freedom in. Smack dab in the middle of Germany.

After the fall of the Third Reich, Berlin was divided between the Allied powers (USA, UK, France, USSR) into four zones of occupation. Russia had very different ideas about German reconstruction, and while the Western bloc established a democratic process and capitalist economy, the Eastern bloc was permeated with KGB rule and communism. As such, the division between East and West was both literal and ideological.
