My Mom told me one of her aunts owned property near the beach in Ohio they would visit back in the 40s and 1950s.
I was thinking if I had to move out of California, Zillow shows Illinois, Indiana and Ohio as the most affordable right now. but I dont want to be suicidal year round.
and people are butt ugly in those states

I lived in Ohio for a few years.
Mixed feelings about the state, but it wasn't half bad.

california would never "Fall into the sea" at best the water surge from a massive off coast quake or Meteorite would cause flooding into the central valley and kill about 5 milllion people.
it would push right into the san francisco bay, flood the entire mudflat region and push water up into San Pablo bay which connects into the Delta and then push into the central valley
but much of california is mountain range reaching nearly 15k feet high or close to three miles. Mount Shasta, Mt WHitney much of Yosemite is well over a mile high. many people live over a mile high in California.
also San Bernadoo would flood. Bakersfield would flood. but much of the death valley itself is over half a mile high. Vegas is 2500 feet above sea level even though it's flat
if a Meteorite hit the great lakes Michigan lake or lake Erie it would kill a fuckload of people. chicago area is only 300 feet above sea level but maybe 10 feet above lake level.
