- Human behavior and beliefs are, for the most part, dependent on the behavior and beliefs of those around them. This is why we have different cultures. You wouldn't expect someone from India or Taiwan to act like an American.
- A movie that makes us relate to the characters in the movie and "feel" their emotions, live in their shoes, etc, are considered to be good movies.
- People watch a shitload of movies today (how many people do you know who's main hobby is netflix?)
- Characters in movies are often exceptional people or people in exceptional circumstances. Superheroes, action movie stars, wall street stock traders, even romantic comedies. The characters are seen as exceptionally important, even if they are just doing day to day things. It wouldn't be an interesting movie if that weren't the case.
- People who watch a lot of movies are constantly taking social cues from these fake characters, as if they are real people, without realizing they are doing it.
- People start to have an overinflated sense of importance, or think that whatever their cause is is more important than it is, due to the tropes commonly portrayed in the movies they watch daily. How many movies are there where the main character fights for "what's right" and gets what they want? Only that is in movies, but these people are extrapolating that to their own life, and we all know how shitty and misinformed most people's opinions are.
- Large groups of these people get together to play out this inflated sense of importance movie trope dream they don't even realize has been planted in them due to their constant brainwashing of themselves.
- They then inflict damage through influencing other people due to their majority, posting on facebook, joining SJW movements, voting, the list goes on and on. But the things they have opinions about, they got from movies, not from real life.
Movies are meant to be fantasy but people are watching so much that they confuse it for real life and then base their real life decisions on it, which is going to fuck up everything. You can already see the effects of this by just observing people. You can see how important they think they are, and how right they think they are, even when it seems they don't know enough about a subject they feel strongly about to even form an opinion.

insightful. video games and television factor into this, as well.

Mainstream culture in general will contribute greatly to the downfal of civilization, that and US economic policy.
