why would anyone set up a giant computer where it isnt freezing cold.

if the environment is too cold you might have problems with temperature changes and fluctuations

ideally if you're sitting over deep ocean you can pump seawater up in a closed loop and route it where it's needed

it takes a lot of energy to pump sea water from the deep sea to the surface.

no amount of solar power is going to be sufficient. also those cold sea water might warm up as they travel to the surface and by the time they reach the surface they could already be warm.

they say the solar panels are just to power the backup battery; main power comes from tethered tidal turbines and a steam turbine

    again, though, it's not real
  8. im arguing the holes in their story and why it cant be real.

anyway, where does the steam come from.

Nuclear power seems the obvious choice, clean and all the wattage a nigger can use.

clean until you have to get rid of spent fuel
  13. aldra JIDF Controlled Opposition
nowadays you can use spent fuel and waste to run a lower-output breeder reactor

apparently actually extracting materials like uranium and plutonium from the earth is an extremely toxic project too though, never really thought about that before
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!
  14. Problem with nuclear plants is if the power plant turbines get destroyed, you get a complete melt down of the nuclear reactor.

shipping and handling those spent fuels are themselves dangerous, inefficient and bothersome.

Build a space elevator and then from there launch it into the sun, problem solved.

That's a good idea, but it's 93 million miles to the Sun, and if you miss it, it ends up like a boomerang, hurtling right back where it came from. Especially if it just misses it, because the added acceleration would be tremendous. It would be heading back here at a speed probably over 150,000mph.

It's pretty hard to miss the sun

You've watched too much Star Trek - The next generation.

Time travel would involve a speed of 671 million miles per hour.

Not at a distance of 93 million miles. At that kind of distance, even the slightest deviation of the angle of attack, even one ten-thousandth of a degree, would result in a miss of millions of miles.
