    So it’s like a hardware implementation of memory mapped files? That’s cool I guess but seems like a lot of work to go through for something we’ve had for a long ass time.

    oh I thought it was just intel-branded NVME drives, they're low-capacity high-speed units that are meant to act as a cache between other devices

    kind of, I think the selling point is the firmware that's meant to maintain the cache 'intelligently', but if that's all it is you're better off just buying more RAM and using one of the regular tools to make a ramdisk
