astronomical phenomena

    Anyone ever see them?

I used to like trying to find the constellations when I was a kid but that got lame

I've seen a few shooting stars I think, maybe just the psychosis acting up again

I've never seen a ufo except on drugs

One thing I distinctly remember is all the local news stations saying there was going to be some cool ass meteor shower in my area but there wasn't one. I was really sad about that, meteor showers are fucking cool

And there were a few times when they would say you could see planets with the naked eye but they just looked looked like slightly larger stars

There was a total lunar eclipse visible in a lot of SC for a while in 2015 but you couldn't see it that well in my area because it was very cloudy

    What about you guys?

I try to observe as many in my lifetime as possible. I collect the memories of them. So far i have seen:

    • Mercury passing in front of the sun. It's not an eclipse when it blocks out a little, they call it occultation.
    • I have seen Venus and jupiter in the night sky when their orbits were favorably aligned.
    • I have seen the super moon eclipse. <- This one was particularly spectacular.
    • I have seen a partial solar eclipse.
    • I have seen shooting stars.
    • I have seen the aurora.

I haven't gotten to see the lights yet. But I'll see plenty of them when I move to Alaska

Funny thing is, i didn't even have to leave my hometown for the aurora it was during a solar flare. The flare was so intense you could see the aurora way down south. The night sky had a bright green glow with a,little bit of red mixed in.

I was in a chat room with a bunch of muslims once. I referred to myself as kafir, they did not disagree.

I've seen jupiter before, I've seen shooting stars, and I've seen the schmeta blood moon a couple years ago. And I've seen a star shower.

Astronomy is one of my favorite subjects and I've been researching brown dwarf stars.

I live in the city but I have good eyesight. Occasionally I look up at the night sky for a while and I can locate a satellite or two in ~20 minutes after my eyes get adjusted.

Goddamn, I've seen a lot of shit in the sky. I was homeschooled and a night owl so I spent every night out there watching the sky with my dad telling stories. Good times. Too many things to list. Too many weird things to name. I spent at least 8 years under the sky looking up at night with my dad. Far more than most people spend star gazing.
