A blessing and a curse. Perhaps we'll be remembered as able-bodied and go peacefully in our sleep. I went to an old friends funeral last week. I had written about him on Zoklet at some point because I remember discussing his defibrillator, but from what I understand, without warning, was just found in his apartment after his heart had failed.
Something I realized too, as the first funeral I went too since Covid, was wondering if he had gotten the vaccine or not. I know he wouldn't have given a shit if I were to pry into his medical information, but I guess that's going to be a thing to factor in now. Since I follow bodybuilding, there is an uptick in deaths, and its interesting to see unfold because you have people saying "Well, you're taking PEDs, of course your going to die of heart problems" and the bodybuilding community being "Yeah but this shit has been around forever, and we're seeing people drop that are hardly on a cycle". I did not take the vaccine btw.
What's your blood pressure like? My blood pressure has always run high, like 140/85 as long as I can remember. I chalked it up to how my system runs, but after my Covid ordeal and bp going up to 160/170's, I decided to start trying to keep it low, and that ironically when I started having cardiac issues.
You know the deal though, fuck 1.5 hours a week or whatever they suggest, do at least a minor cardio workout once a day, drink plenty of liquids (Some of my palpitations have been from electrolyte imbalance from not rehydrating properly), reduce sodium and don't eat garbage, don't smoke (tobacco), reduce stress, keep bp in check, all that good shit. Those of us with heart issues must be vigilant and take time for a self-assessment, and be thankful for every day. Hell it's one of the reasons I started posting again. Posting induces mindfulness or something.
