This, every inch owned by somebody or the gov. They need to try harder, I grew up dirt poor and now own my place debt free. It's not all that hard, I'm a kinda lazy fucker and managed to do it on blue collar work. May need to give up dat expensive drug habit tho. -

It was easier in your generation, boomer. You grew up “dirt poor” during the greatest peacetime expansion and wealth creation era in all of human history in the most powerful nation in human history. Anyone who makes it these days, got lucky. I swear boomers are always trying to tell everyone how bad they had it, it’s a joke.
Like anyone can eke out a living working some shit job sure, but that pipe dream of working 1 job that you maybe kinda enjoy, with a stay at home housewife, raising 2.5 kids, a house, 2 cars, and putting enough away for retirement and the kid’s education, that life doesn’t exist anymore for the vast majority of the population.
I’m all for working hard, I did it. The way I look at it is you have to be on the tracks to get where you’re going, but most people get derailed along the way and it’s literally just a numbers game if you make it. It’s a dice roll pure and simple -

I was the last of the boomers, I didn't get no sweet pensions or any that shit. My wife and I both worked our ass off and did without shit for years. Plenty of jobs around here but wasn't shit when I became working age, instead of crying like a little bitch about life being unfair I joined the military. No you can't get ahead working at fucking KFC so learn a fucking trade.
My brother 7 years older and did get that good paying job out of HS and a nice retirement pension but shit changed before I started working.
