Most people don't rotate their tires which doesn't help. Also usually the first set last longer because the car doesn't have any wear on the suspension. All terrain, snow and 4x4 tires are softer and wear faster. You can look at the codes on a tire to see, don't remember exactly but sure you can google it.

I got an alignment and rotate them everytime I go in for an oil change because I pre-paid for the package when I bought the car.
but honestly I paid the last oil change and didn't have it done. I will align, and get 4 new tires and try and get at least 50-60k out of them.
also an AWD unlike a 4WD has a computer to have each axle and wheel act independently
I have 4 and 5s still on my tires. 3 is the minimum and 9 is a new set (9mm i guess)

Some cars just harder on stuff, daughters car a Civic went about 70K on original tires. Dodge vans wear brake pads fast.
