Why is the creation of the binary code so particularly revolutionary and groundbreaking?

2023-09-08 at 4:16 PM UTCFolks, please provide me with all the juicy tidbits and details, and leave nothing forsaken.

2023-09-08 at 4:25 PM UTCthe transistor is what made computers possible, and each transistor can only be set to ON or OFF.
binary encoding is a way to store and use data in a system that can only express two states.
it's why quantum computing is such a big thing; a quantum transistor can potentially be set to more than just on or off, with the latest test units being able to store up to seven distinct states.
to clarify - in binary, a system that can only store data as ON/OFF or 1/0, the word 'nigger' converted to ASCII is
110000111001011000000001000000110011010110000100010111010.
in base-7, it can be encoded to
124420633121230304421.
consider how much faster data and instructions can be processed if it doesn't take so much work and space to store them -

Ur a genius. U can teach this to people. -

Google's quantum computer apparently has 'transistors' that can store
7 discrete states but they take like 30 seconds per transistor to update so they're not useful outside of experimentation yet -
2023-09-08 at 5:06 PM UTCI wish my OS could embed a 3d model as ascii
*sigh* one dayPeople who play one of Terry's games: "Ehh…"
something something 7 minutes time mark
People who find out he made the OS it runs on: "Very impressive."
People who find out that his animated, 3D games are literally a Textfile: HOLY SHIT

Named after the esteemed ESPORTS transvestite by the same name -
