Why am I thinking about this now

2023-09-08 at 3:46 AM UTCSo my mum is a nurse if you didn't all know, and she tells me stories I'm not allowed to repeat because it'd end up in the news etc. Anyway she said that people in ICU, people who've been sedated for weeks, when they wake up they're batshit crazy and don't remember who their children are or anything. Like they're actually crazy. Does anyone know why this could be?

it's not the same thing, if your nose is blocked you can compensate by breathing through your mouth or breathing deeper/faster
depressants and anaesthetics slow the muscles that control your lungs down so less air makes it into your blood. it's why so many people die mixing opiates and benzos -
