What is K/ratom?The K/ratom tree is a plant native to Southeast asia. The leaves of this plant contain psychoactive alkaloids such as Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. The leaves are often chewed raw in southeast asia, but they can also be dried and crushed to make a powder. This powder can be ingested in a variety of ways, in pills, as a raw powder, or it can be brewed into a tea. Other edible k/ratom supplements include tinctures and gummies.
What are it's effects? The effects of k/ratom are similar to DMX in that they rely on the amount of the dose administered. typically, a "low" dose produces stimulant effects (increased energy, alertness and rapid heart rate), while "high" doses typically produce sedative effects (relaxation, pain relief and confusion). The primary psychoactive compound in K/ratom produces effects similar to morphine, as it is a partial opioid receptor antagonist. Depressant effects are also common at "high" doses. The effects of k/ratom can last anywhere from 2-8 hours, this, again, depends on the amount ingested.
NOTEIMPORTANT: I am not a doctor. There is still much research to be done regarding k/ratom dosages and uses. I also could not find a reliable source that states MG/KG dosage of k/ratom. It is equally important to note that the chemical composition of k/ratom is not consistent between all k/ratom products.
K/ratom Dosage ProceduresFor beginners, a common dose is 1-3 grams. The effects produced at this dose are quite mild, and produce stimulant effects. A common mid-range dose is anywhere from 4-6 grams. At this dose, either highly stimulating effects can be achieved, or sedative effects can also be achieved. Side effects such as heavy perspiration may occur at this dose range. High doses typically range between 7-12 grams. At this dose, heavily sedating effects can set in, as well as other unpleasent side effects, such as nausea.
Side effectsThe potential side effects of k/ratom are as follows:
Weight loss
Dry mouth
Chills, nausea and vomiting
Changes in urine and constipation
Liver damage
Dizziness
Drowsiness
Hallucinations and delusion
Depression and delusion
Breathing suppression
Seizure, coma and death
Muscle pain
NOTE: Many instances of reports where K/ratom is reported to be the cause of death neglect the fact that, in almost
all k/ratom overdose cases, other drugs (such as alchohol) were used in conjunction with k/ratom.
Best practicesAs K/ratom can lead to constipation/dehydration, it is best to stay hydrated while using k/ratom. K/ratom also
can be used successfully in conjunction with other drugs, it is not recommended as this can lead to unwanted side effects (including death). Certain supplements,
Speculative EffectsIt is reported that k/ratom use in conjunction with so called "K/ratom Potentiators" can perpetuate stronger effects from K/ratom. Some of these potentiators include Caffeine, Grapefruit Juice, Chamomile tea, and cimetidine. There is
some evidence that suggest
some k/ratom potentiators actually do potentiate the effects of k/ratom, but there are also a great deal of anecdotes that back these claims. The potentiators I can find concrete evidence for are as follows:
These potentiators are proven to potentiate the effects of OPIODS IN GENERAL, NOT specifically k/ratom.1: Cimetidine - Cimetidine may increase the effects of opioids by increasing their duration of action -

2: Grape fruit juice (i'm not kidding) -
