2023-08-25 at 9:35 PM UTCI don't think we need to be as concerned about it as we are, but I do support Europe in its efforts to end fossil fuel use. Not because I care about carbon emissions, but because until they do they'll be forever shackled to the whims of Saudi Arabia/Russia/the US. Freedom of expression can only exist in countries whose economies are not reliant on Saudi oil. And I do think some concern is warranted. The world isn't going to die though, and it's only going to be "bad" if people are unwilling to harden their hearts and gun down climate migrants.

I think the argument in favor of electric cars even if the grid is powered by fossil fuels is that it's an efficiency game: stationary power plants are generally more efficient at extracting energy from a given fossil fuel source than their mobile counterparts.
