    Lol why

Kinda curious how kike'd this is. Barely any games included but its backward compatible??

I'm guessing the hardware is an emulator+ a thing that also lets you hook physical cartridges into it but there's no way

Retron 77 did this 4(?) years ago for 79.99.

...also the retron has an SD slot so you can load it up with the full Atari library as well as use original carts. Hard pass on this money grab.

interesting. You would think if they are gonna market it as backwards compatible that can play carts you MIGHT AS WELL throw an SD slot as well, so you can play all the carts you have laying around + download any games you don't. The retron is pretty ugly but yeah ALL OF THESE CONSOLE REMAKES SHOULD HAVE USB SD SLOTS

I would not pay $10 for a garbage bag full of these old games unless they were in mint condition. I hope MVG does a hardware breakdown of this atari remake but I don't think he cares about that era of gaming

maybe this guy will do it, he's usually pretty negative on bad stuff idk i'm gonna watch this after I post it

The VCS is more of a "computer" and totally failed...it's basically nothing more than an android box. It bombed.

This new Atari is pretty much what I said, a cash grab to recoup some of their losses by playing on nostalgia...the retron is a much better device (bunt not be Atari of course).

..and Atari today isn't anything to do with the Atari of old...it's just a few twats who bought the IP.

Yep, lots of dumbasses out there that fall for this crap.

It has as much to do with the legendary Atari as as ...as something else has to do with something else!

A $5 Raspberry pi zero can run everything produced for the Atari, 2600, 5200 and 7800...as well as dozens of other consoles.

They are paying for the (fake) Atari name and the shape of the thing...

The only thing I like about it is the ethernet port but why did they even make this what are you supposed to play on it
they are like chinese console makers this is very janky

It wasn't received well when they first announced it...they also change the specs a lot from it's initial announcement to the final version which again was pretty much just an under powered android box.

Again, just playing on peoples nostalgia...those of us who grew up with the Atari and have cash to "throw around".

Same thing with the intellivision Amico...that will never see the light of day.

There have been SO MANY bad examples of these going bad

The PS1 the NES/SNES and all that shit was just terrible and the emulators suck. I understand wanting the physical whatever but I think people could just buy USB controllers of their favorite old console and play it on any emulator and it would be the exact same experience for 1/10th of the cost

I guess when you have a gaming market like the current modern console PS5 FUYS ROCK NOSE TRIANGLE 3D EPIC GRAPHICS THIS CONSOLE WILL CHANGE THE WORLD but everyone is like "yeah that was shit I'm gonna go play my atari now"

and then they get suckered into buying this shit. Might as well get the SOULJA CONSOLE which I think actually has higher specs than the Atari VCS

The C64 mini did good...so good they produced the C64 Maxi...full sized one with working keyboard etc...I've got both those and use the maxi instead of an original C64 because of the HDMI and convenience of not pissing around with floppy disks etc.

    Jesus Christ

One of the best products to be unveiled at Gamescom 2023 isn't actually a game at all – it's a reimagined console. However, my first impressions of it were possibly as impactful as if I'd seen Grand Theft Auto 6 running on a Steam Deck 2
