I have a USB stick in my car with a ton of audio books on it, I've been listening to the Rendevous with Rama series this last month and am on Rama 4...rama revealed.
When I got in my car last night to drive home I got the "No media found" message on my display...it appears the 10000F temperatures in my car for the last month has fried the thing. I took it out and put it in front of the a/c vent for a couple of mins as it was hot to the touch...then it started working again but now I don't trust it.
I had no idea global warming was going to interfere with my audio book enjoyment.

I've never used a flash drive long enough to not work just act a little weird but supposedly they only have so many times to read and write.
I have all my important pictures on a hard drive too.

I'm pretty sure it's the heat, it was a new drive when I loaded it up and so it's not had any more writes and only reading a few "big" MP3 files.
Also the fact it started working again after cooling it off would imply that too.
The messed up thing is the book I'm listening to is 1 big mp3 file..no chapters and I was halfway through it...I dunno..like 9 or 10hrs long...and in my car I can't "fast forward" through MP3 files...so I had to start listening to it again from the beginning.
I'm gonna let my A/C kick in for 20 mins or so on my way home tonight before I attempt to listen to it to give it chance to cool down.

Reminds me of my car tablet, literary it is a hypochondriac sandsung and forces me out of split-screen mode claiming it's too hot. Yet I'll feel it and it's not really hot.

The guy who came and replaced my smashed car window yesterday also couldn't email me the receipt because his phone overheated and shut down.
If AI wants to take over the world they better do it in the winter.

i live in the tropics and i never had a phone shut down on me because it was too hot.

Now the SD card in my dashcam is fried. I went to the bank at lunchtime and the fucker said "No SD card"
