Best distro for persistent live USB?

I have an Ubuntu USB that I just use to move stuff around. Like moving stuff from an SD card to another clean flash drive that doesn't have any dick pics or whatever so I can develop them.

I don't own a computer and I don't like using anyone else's for moving my files.

Anyway it's pretty much unusable now. It will freeze and crash if I try to download anything. I guess the file is bigger than it used to be and has more requirements.

I don't really need persistence if I have something that I can format other flashdrives with it without installing anything.

that's to prevent prying eyes over the internet? what are those called. I saw it in a movie where a White Nationalist had a list of names of all of his followers to start a civil war.

but some high school girl ruins his fun.

try parrot, it's a security focused debian distro, Sophie recommended it last time I reinstalled

Is the iso fairly small? I think that's part of the problem now. Everything is like 3x the size it used to be.

iso is about 2.5gb for the 'home' build, can check the base install size later

if you install home you can still install the cracking tools individually with apt, or just update the distribution in apt and update everything

the only difficulty I had with it was that I couldn't set up full disk encryption with custom LVM volumes like I normally do, had to let it automatically partition the physical drive before encrypting

I haven't used it in years but TAILS is my preferred linux USB OS.

I dunno what persistent means besides the dictionary definition i'm kinda a TEK NOOB but

    https://tails.net/doc/persistent_storage/

mostly because it's what i've used before I am probably more familiar with it than ubuntu

It's just for programs you install so it doesn't delete everything every time. I think I needed it before to install something to read different types of flash drives. And a VPN I would use for torrents.

Anyway I only have two USB slots. I had Ubuntu on a 16GB flash drive with like no available memory so I can't download another ISO to it and install it from there. Idk wtf I did to do that.

I had another 16GB one that I did have a persistent partition on that takes like 15 minutes to load and then freezes and shit.

I have an 8GB one that's old af that loads fairly quick but checks the disk everytime for some reason. I'm thinking about just using that.

I've been fucking around with it wasting my time all morning.
