2023-08-11 at 8:48 PM UTC‘This is going to get worse before it gets better’: Panama Canal pileup due to drought reaches 154 vessels
The number of vessels waiting to cross the Panama Canal has reached 154, and slots for carriers to book passage are being reduced in an effort to manage congestion caused by ongoing drought conditions that have roiled the major shipping gateway since the spring. The current wait time to cross the canal is now around 21 days.

Corals across several countries are bleaching and dying en masse from unprecedented levels of heat stress, prompting fears that an unfolding tragedy in Central America, North America and the Caribbean could become a global event.
US government scientists have confirmed reefs in Panama, Colombia, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Mexico and six countries in the Caribbean, including the Bahamas and Cuba, are suffering significant bleaching, alongside corals in Florida that began turning white almost a month ago. -

didnt they say sea level is going to RISE ? -

adapt or perish.
that you are right about. if its any consolation, it wont happen during your lifetime.
actually, we are about to exit the very temporary interglacial period and enter the next ice age. europe and north america will become unlivable and everyone will be fighting over the tropics which will be the only remaining land of plenty. when life starts being precious and underpopulation the new problem, no one will be talking about the rights of brown people or faggots.

Yeah you know, the guy who has ice in a glass of water showing it takes up same volume is an idiot. Salt water forces fresh water ice to float. Salt prevents freezing. So when ice melts the floating volume of frozen water Adds (ad 7) to salt water volume causing it to rise. We learned this in 5th grade science -

thats not their argument behind rising sea water.
the argument was that sea level is going to rise because all the ices the with the mass of an entire continent which is frozen solid and stacked above ground is going to melt and flow into the sea,
ices with the volumes of hundreds of mount himalaya melting and flowing into the sea that will cause sea level to rise. -
2023-08-12 at 2:26 PM UTCIf the sea level rises the first place you will notice is the mud flats in the SFbay. I've followed the water levels for the past DECADE and it actually has been on a consistent trend down a few cm , if the levels rose enough it would totally engulf the flats but that has NEVER happened not since the last ice age. We will deplete the oxygen and kill the atmosphere probably before that ever happens

you cant be sure of that. ita possible that the californian tectonic plate has shifted higher. -

If it did there would probably be 10 papers about it, the entire area is pretty closely studied by scientists and university, it's like climate change ground zero... yet the water has NEVER gone above a certain point
so i'm thinking the ice melting will flood the earth is not 100% like they say. What is the water cycle
wouldn't it just end up on top of a mountain and freeze? I know it melts there too and there is stuff like uranium fuel rods from spy planes that are stuck in mountain ice thats slowly killing everyone, and that water all ends up in some poor monsoon season village and then it just goes a loop and probably turns to ice/snow in the winter and melts
it's not ALL going to just accumulate in the ocean forever until it slowly fills up like the earth is a clogged sink.
