1 in 10 Americans are Millionaires
-
2023-07-31 at 12:49 PM UTCI'm 33 years old, white and have a little over $100 and roughly $12k in debt.
I'm watching a fat Mexican cut grass that doesn't need cut.
^Doesnt get robbed by taxes like Fona does.
All my hard work and there's 27 potholes on my 3.5 mile journey to work.
What are my tax dollars doing for me?
I wish I was a millionaire.
Fuck Joe Biden. -
2023-07-31 at 1:01 PM UTCUnlucky. Although it's pit hole country central here in England an like you I wonder where the fuck the taxes go aswell....almost as if the 15 minute city thing is being pushed and we'll all be on electric buses if we do get to go anywhere.
I'm 37 soon, and only debts I have are about £600 to courts and fine and about the same to the government for welfare loans.
Don't think I even have the credit to put in for a normal loan actually nor do I trust myself if I could. -

2023-08-01 at 12:44 PM UTCSooner or later wage slavery will end. People will look back on the period between the industrial revolution and 21st century and ask "wtf were they thinking".
It's similar to all the jedis in the concentration camps...500,000 jedis, 8000 guards...and they just went along with it knowing their fate rather than all rebeling, killing the guards and going on their merry way.
A modern life of 9-5 is similar..the more shit you have the more you feel you have to lose.
Back in the good old days circa 10,000BC you hunted and farmed your food, you only worked about 20hrs a week and that was hunting with your buddies or creating tools etc..while the women was cooking your dinner and washing your loincloth and not talking back or fucking the neighbor.
It's all about to collapse, find a cave now and mark it as your territory. -

Then usually when we were done my CEO would tell us OK GUYS GOOD JOB NOW LETS MOVE EM BACK -

look at places of worship of the past and their workmanship.
those were made by volunteer peasants and look at recorded duration of their construction. without artificial lighting those work can only be done during the day and only limited works during the night and yet they manage to complete such task which will take modern day "american" workforce twice as long to complete even with modern, contemporary technology.
religion is usually the best indicator of a society's free time to pursue and engage in non-subsistence activities, and societies of the past have plenty of time for that. -

I read an anthropology thing about a year ago...the figure they actually gave was 23hrs a week on average...I just rounded down to 20 for the giggles. I don't know where they got the figure from...probably based on the time required to only 'work" enough to feed and cloth your family per week. ETA: and make tools etc to support those endeavors. -

2023-08-01 at 2:13 PM UTCI just googled it...I guess I was being generous (as was the report I read)
"Using data gathered from various foraging societies and quantitative surveys done among the Arnhem Landers of Australia and quantitative materials cataloged by Richard Lee on the Dobe Bushmen of the Kalahari, Sahlins argues that hunter-gatherer tribes are able to meet their needs through working roughly 15-20 hours per week"
Another result
"How many hours a week did ancient people work?
15 Hours
For 95 Percent of Human History, People Worked 15 Hours a Week" -

This is like when people act like medieval serfs - literal slaves owned by whoever owned the land they resided on - worked fewer days each year than modern humans do. No! Their lives were harder and they had to do 1000x more work than moderns do. Subsistence living is 24/7 employment, my nigga. People had a "20 hour work week" with 80 hours of unpaid overtime chopping logs and doing all the other tedious shit that life demanded of them. Jobs didn't exist in "the good old days", but work did. So, so much of it. Laundry day used to be a full day of labor for the womenfolk (as in, literally every female in the family had to devote an entire day of their lives to it), and that didn't change until like 100 years ago.
There were a lot of chores for everyone. And the thing that made it so we didn't have to do all those chores anymore was the social and technological progress enabled by civilization - the much bemoaned 40 hour work week is not only less work than humans have ever had to do in history, it's the fucking reason you don't spend a month of your life each year preparing to ensure you survive the winter. -
