It's one of teh few American products that are actually good. It's like carrying around a little self-igniting oil lamp with you all the time. It's nice.

I don't like zippos I find them useless for smoking bongs and meth pipes (they are great for cleaning a dirty pipe though). I like that you can refill them but the design is not suited for drug smoking or chemistry uses. I am looking for one like this but smaller, I used to have a good one but I clucked it for dope money. It's hard to find a decent one without an annoying cap that makes meth smoking impossible. I GUESS I JUST ASK FOR TOO MUCH

I haven't seen a good butane torch in ages, I remember 7-11 used to sell them when we were straight edge pyromaniacs the guy even gave a demo, filled it up and showed us the flame right there at the register. I think people stopped selling them around here because of the crack/crank smokers. You can't find thumb friendlies anywhere in the city, I got them all the time in my old town.

It's like an active police of Harm Enlargement forcing people to use candles, matches, broken pipes and light bulbs for smoking.

I'm pretty sure I could sell meth labs without anyone even realizing its a meth lab. Ammonium sulfate + ephedrine grass seed and elemental sodium magnesium aggregate, glassware and 1kg sodium hydroxide for sterilizing the grass garden.

lawn in a flask the hottest kids toy this summer, even your homeless drug addicted sister is begging Zanta for one this year.

    Shake and bake nuclear reactor.

Comes with enough strontium 90 in a lead container to power your house. These are selling like hot cakes to places with poor electrical grids like Syria, Africa and North Korea.

    I'm like Tony Stark.

I find the exact opposite in the US market for the most part. The stuff I buy here is junk that crumbles and breaks unless it's made in the US. Who knows maybe we export all the shitty stuff we make and keep the good stuff for ourselves.

Off topic: This thread reminded me of a Frank Zappa tune, Flakes.

Zippos are great but I dislike that they've become co-opted by what I call the "Leitgeist", a faggy movement that primarily consists of MOON PERSONs who collect affectations of "manliness" or "taste" or "culturedness".

The Leitgeist has ruined Zippos, medium rare steaks, sous vide, reverse searing and smoking meat, leather wallets, lower-mid range watches, cast iron skillets, nalgene bottles, safety razors and shaving equipment, Pyrex, leather jackets, microbrews, feigning gun knowledge by talking about trigger discipline every time a gun appears in media, Leatherman multiple, Swiss Army knives, quality chef's knives etc.

I own a Zippo but I only keep it in my pocket as a courtesy to others, I don't smoke anything myself, I'll give someone a light if they need it. Pin proud to say I have never learnt any Zippo tricks.

I have a Zippo from when I used to shoplift anything with a price tag. I don't like using it because it smells, but I can understand the utility.

You'd get way more utility out of a BIC.

I am happy American "culture" is not yet as so pervasive as to make millenials ruin everything in my neck of the woods.

I use BIC's out of sheer convenience, when I do smoke, but Zippo has the wind-proof feature that would be useful to any Chicagoan.
