2023-08-14 at 12:11 PM UTCNogs tried to steal my car this weekend, smashed out the drivers side rear window, wrecked the housing around the ignition/steering column, were not successful thanks to being black.
Waiting on a call this morning for a mobile glass place to see if they can find a suitable replacement glass...about $400. I taped the housing around the steering column together with duct tape..works great! -

2023-08-14 at 1:02 PM UTCSounds kinda high for a window, we get windshields put in cheaper than that but we know you don't like doing grease monkey work. Hope they didn't fuck up the steering column because some you have to replace the entire thing.
Retards all you have to do is grab most switches with some big pliers and work it back and forth. Done it plenty of times on auction cars without keys.
LOL almost forgot, most keys chipped these days so it wouldn't start anyway. -

Well I've gotten 4 quotes (for mobile installation and they've ranged from $300 to $395). Safelite were the high one (who charge $40 recycle fee to remove the old glass...I told them there is NO glass to remove but they still wont remove the fee).
I'm currently waiting on Atlas glass to call me back, they quoted $320 but then said there were no after market glass available and they'd quote me on OEM glass this morning.
That price includes the mobile service so glass, labor, mobile service...it's not too bad, they all say job will take about 60-90mins...so labor is probably $175 of that or so.
The nogs used an old chisel to break the window...it was sitting on the drivers seat...they'd tried several times apparently as the rim of the window has multiple "cuts" in it where they were trying to get the chisel in. -
