She's gone in for surgery today so I don't even know if she'll make it as she's pushing 80 and even the docs said it's high risk or someshit.

Yeah hope she pulls through. Not to upset you but the number two cause of death in surgery is hip replacements second to open Heart Surgery.
the amount of anesthesia required is often the cause. it's not worth it really but hip pain is a mother fucker so people at age 70-80 think "Fuck the risk, Anything is better than this pain"
