2023-07-18 at 5:25 AM UTCRIPterm was not popular but would of made dialup BBS much more advanced if you pre-loaded pages then kept I remember a long package you had to download then install but it worked really cool and a bit glitchy but would interact with current BBS forum's and their menu page.
but the World Wide Web and HTML came along with internet browsers and killed telnet boards.
people who ran boards and were into programming and communicating didn't care for the cute cartoon art that RIPterm offered I guess -

I have met some very interesting people. Basically you can't have a group unless you have a BBS so i'm doing that, nows the best time, it's early. I forsee the possibility of these networks exploding and suddenly seeing a repeat of totse and the whole "kidiots" saga which honestly i've seeen it many times throughout various internet communities. Chemistry/usenet drug skitzos, 4channers, you name it.
People are so butthurt that their little niche culture gets destroyed and watered down by everything around them
You know what the BBS community and scene community did? THey stopped being lame and boring do nothing and started all becoming MODERN BBS systems hooked up to 20 netxz and built TOOLS that allow sektchy bootstrap connections and fixing oldje broken shit, making their stuff NOICE and user friendly. Like Lanny said this tek was perfected 20+ years ago and has only gone downhill since, I agree 1000% and they are building the world of their dreams while everyone else sits around complaijning about this or that, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!! like these guys did and DO!!

CYBERSPACE is not facebook, twitter, LinkedIn or your google+ prison which scans every fart you make to sell you more useless stuff you don't need for your consumer selfie "look at me I am so happy" lifestyle. CYBERSPACE extends all over the place, lightyears removed from your lolcatz and facebook likes...a transcendental hyperreality matrix from seedy little corners only visited by enlightened freaks to an infinite world of clandestine knowledge that extends into infinity without CONTROL.
