   not really the reason. Im sure there are many theories. but it wasn't out of ignorance. we also made directions the opposite to be different. the reason cars drive the opposite way in the UK is that is the side they would ride horses during a Jousting match so the USA flipped direction. it existed before cars. horses and carriages rode on the right side. people were expected to walk on the right side of the street on the sidewalk or boardwalk just to be opposite of British Rule.

   It's some sort of council/government building and the two that came out to him are just jobsworths, he's probably one of the best UK auditors...just wraps them up in there own sense of self worth and made rules..
