Transalpine Gaul means "Gaul on the Other Side (relative to Rome) of the Alps", Cisalipine Gual means "Gaul on This Side etc etc". Trans- as in *across* made sense - transatlantic, the transcontinental trans-Canada highway. If you're at a house party and you want to talk to a cute girl on the other side of the room, you have to make a trek trans-room to speak to her. Sure. You can even see how that "across" meaning derives from the "other side of" meaning. "Cisgender" makes... less sense. What would a "ciscontinental flight" even imply? It could describe a flight from JFK to Denver, or a 20 minute flight between tiny regional airports. It's literally every domestic flight except transcontinental, because trans- in this context means "across"... which doesn't have an opposite, there's simply everywhere that's not all the way to the other side.
This is kind of awkward too, because thinking on it... it maybe kind of concedes/implies that "non-binary" is bullshit. Hear me out: the derivation of "across" from "trans-" requires a set midpoint. That is, it implies a span comprised of two spans ~equal in length with a set midpoint, a full journey of which will take you "to the other side" of whatever you're drawing that span across. "Transtlantic" isn't trans- because it goes "all the way across", it's trans- because it's on the other side of the mid-atlantic (where I hear they have lovely accents). To be non-binary is to assert that your gender is a point along some infinite gender spectrum - there's no midpoint, just like there's no number that's exactly between 0 and ∞. ∞/2 is nonsensical, "infinity isn't a number"*.
I'm trans- because I'm crossing that midpoint between genders (or trying to and falling short - transcontinental flights take off and land in the same country, I'm just hoping to catch a connection from here to Lesbos or something). It kind of makes sense in that context, but there's no opposite side of infinity and no going across it. 😤

That was all a tangent. That aside, while I don't expect you to actually remember the answer I can clarify: it means the former rather than the latter. A "trans(gender) woman" means mtf, a "trans(gender) man" means ftm. An easy trick to remembering this is to picture a bitter leftoid sobbing and angrily screaming "trans women are women" at you. You know that this leftoid isn't saying "non-trans women taking testosterone are women": that'd mean they were agreeing with you, and your entire worldview would be shaken to its core. So obviously they must mean I am a woman. I know this is confusing and you are oldge, but like... maybe this'll keep you from one day getting your neck snapped by some roided out trans man in a bad mood. -

When I rescued it I thought it was a female due to seeing nipples and no balls…I took it to the vet and filled out the forms as it being "female"…they didn't say shit.
About 2 months later the vet says "you have Kitty down as female but you know it's male right…I can show you if you like"

I guess the balls are not obvious when they are very small…anyway I got those things chopped off at six months and have refered to her as "she" or "good girl" ever since.
what mental illness would cause a man to tranify his pet ?
imagine if a man with a cat and decided that he doesnt like its tail and brought it to the vets to have its tail chopped off.
is this normal. -

Male cats spray (piss) all over the place...marking their territory...if you chop their balls off they don't or rarely do. My cat has never sprayed thanks to transitioning.

Your trying to make sense of their shit, every few months they come out with some new word. Most people don't really care what you do in your private life but they do care about idiots telling them what they should accept and what words they should use to describe it.
