Video shows Syrian refugee stabbing children in Annecy, France

   Seven people, including six children, were injured after a man went on a stabbing spree in Annecy town in France. The suspect, identified as a Syrian asylum seeker, has been arrested. The stabbing took place at a helicopter park where a number of children between the ages of three and five were present as part of a school trip. At least two of the children injured in the incident are critical. …

   The suspect, a 32-year-old Syrian man, is said to have entered France illegally. The individual filed for asylum at the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons (Ofpra) on November 28, 2022, The Telegraph UK reported. The suspect is also said to have obtained refugee status in Sweden on April 26, 2023. Consequently, his request for asylum in France was pointless as he was legal from the point of view of EU law, French news outlet Libération reported.
