Additional info....95% of my driving is too and from work in heavy houston traffic, 80 mile a day round trip.

I had a Camero before and it ate up the gas, but got me lots of attention which we all know I crave.

The Kia Forte is cheap, good on gas and has 100k miles warranty.

I drove a rental Kia recently. It had lane assist and cruise control, so when it got on the highway it drove itself. It'll be very hard going back to having to steer manually.

My car has blank buttons where the lane assist is supposed to be. I regret not getting that option, and would probably pay for it as a subscription.

Practicality is more likely to win out what with me being a tightfisted bastard...it did last time. I had that thing for a few months and got rid of it....but in that time I got many many looks from the single moms pulling up at Aldi.

..still that wasn't a convertible and a red convertible is seriously doubling down on the mid life crisis.

If money wasn't an issue I'd go with the Chevy for sure. With what you say you're going to be mainly using it for I'd probably get the Kia, it will be better on gas and you seem to have a helluva commute. I don't miss jobs like that lol

just install an air intake restrictor if gas consumption is a problem.

chevy isnt as reliable as kia (within the last 10 years), plus Camero parts are more expensive. Also convertibles typically have more issues, and less rigid frames and unibodies. Id go with the kia

with that being said. counter argument is that a lot of kia models might get recalled soon due to them being very easy to steal, as they might of not met the federal anti-theft requirements. I believe there are software updates, and they are fixing them free of charge, but its something to look into and see if this will affect that particular model of kia you might buy.

I drive a 2018 Forte and havent had any complaints about it, all it's needed in 50k miles was front brake pads.
