it might be a technicality because the site owners don't directly upload content, 'users' (the most prolific ones are probably the site owners) do, so the site can't be held responsible as long as copyrighted videos are removed quickly (even if they're reuploaded again a few minutes later)
not really, because if you ever download from movie123 you'll see that all their files are located on 3rd party servers.
i used to be able to download most movie from it until about last year when they switch their movie format to m3u8. before that theyre all full length mp4.
the ads are like crazy. i dont know if you have ad blocker or what but if you dont have ad blocker you;ll see how saturated wity ad it is, complete with the kind that automatically install apps on your device. -

at the same time, I am pro piracy and believe if you can't make money because people are pirating all your music/videos/porn whatever for free then your business model as an artist doesn't really have merit to stand on its own, which some say is bullshit that just anyone with more money can steal anyones stuff and make money from it with no oversight besides "I do not give my permission to have my likeness on this website"

I think because once they get popular enough people start clipping their videos and putting them on 10 streaming sites and they probably realize this is they ever google themselves and then have to send cease and desist orders to all these hosting sites because now people can watch all your stuff for free
