2023-05-29 at 3:52 PM UTCTHe United States will respond with fire and fury to any incursion by the CCP on Taiwan, Japan, the us territories in the Pacific, or then allies that make up the containment islands around China. God fucking help these dumb bitches if anyone strikes the US Mainland/US States in Hawaii/Alaska, God fucking help them poor bastards we are already almost a million strong in our military.
Last time (Pearl Harbor) we were attacked on our soil, the mobilization of men was so unrealistic that Japan thought we were going to piss ourselves and persue peace. What actually happened was within 6 months we had hundreds of thousands of youngmen trained to fight and resolved our entire industrial capacity to DESTROY them which we did within a couple years.
"Everything you love in your city has been reduced by the power the sun, we have harnessed a bomb that functions similarly to a small sun, we will continue releasing these bombs until you're dumb fucking chink ass has no fucking population centers left, no cities making war munitions left, nothing that you previously thought was impenetrable will exist. You are killing your people for nothing and are cornered, we will drop the next bomb in three days, and the next bomb three days later, and continue every three days EVAPORATING YOUR CITIES until you accept a surrender deal based on what we decide without any input from you. Please consider the lives of your people and the future of your island race. We will not stop until you give in to our demands for full surrender. Do not do this to your people, sir. We have harnessed the power of the sun."
that's my memory of what we sent via Telegraph to Emperor Hirohito. It will be the same with Xinping. I'll sign up to fight, everyone I respect will sign up to fight, and we will destroy them. -

2023-05-29 at 4:41 PM UTCChina is an expanding power, Russia is a fading power.
-
2023-05-29 at 4:43 PM UTCAlso Ukraine gained independence in the 90s through no help of the USA unlike Taiwan which the United States essentially created in the early 20th century.
-
2023-05-29 at 5:08 PM UTCthe thing is when ukraine gave up its stockpile fo wepaons the usa guaranteed its independence and freedom then. plus it has according to aldra created the recent or 2014 coup so also created it the way it is shaped in the modern day.

yeah, kick off a nuclear exchange with a decapitating strike on one of the least-populated, least-developed parts of the US
from the actual quote they posted he mentions using a 'few brigades', which seems to indicate he wasn't talking about nuking Alaska but reclaiming it with an expeditionary force, which is still a retarded idea.

if China were to commit to militarily retaking Taiwan the US wouldn't be able to stop it, but they would be able to inflict horrendous damage on China proper that could potentially destroy its economy or function as a state as well as destroying the manufacturing capabilities that currently make Taiwan valuable.
that window is closing though, as Russian hypersonic anti-shipping missiles would dramatically reduce the US' ability to act in the theatre, and it's almost guaranteed China's been trying to acquire Kinzhals and Zircons for that exact reason. see: https://smoothiex12.blogspot.com/2023/03/chinas-naval-problem.html
in terms of the US military retention and recruitment are way down and standards have been repeatedly lowered to attract 'sub-optimal' candidates, and they've squandered loads of military equipment in Afghanistan and Ukraine, though I don't know how much of that is relevant because actions around Taiwan would primarily be naval with maybe radars and anti/missile systems as the primary ground deployment

Pearl Harbour was a trap; the US instigated the attack by sanctioning all of Japan's foreign suppliers, then moved their carriers and valuable ships out of port when they intercepted communications that the attack was happening and just let it come. everything was prepared ahead of schedule.

Russia's still rebuilding after the fall of the Soviet Union and the 90s and the process has accelerated under the sanctions. China is still too reliant on the (hostile) US and European markets which makes their economy unstable, and that's why they're trying to push the BRI into Eurasia and the Middle East.
generally speaking, in terms of their alliance, Russia is the military power and China is economic. -
2023-05-30 at 5:13 AM UTCbut yeah, I mean any attack by Russia on the US' home territory or vice versa would rapidly escalate to a nuclear exchange
you can wargame that all you want but neither side has the capability to 'win' it without being obliterated as a state -
2023-05-30 at 5:28 AM UTCso you think usa would attack as in militarily or more economically china proper if they invaded taiwan?
-
2023-05-30 at 5:32 AM UTCcheck the article I linked - if they can do so relatively safely, yes I think so.
if doing so would put their carrier groups at risk though, I'm not so sure. they'd probably prefer to use 'hybrid' methods like sanctions, economic warfare, instigating political unrest and proxy wars, but they've overused those tools in the last few decades and they're not so effective now -
