What are you thinking about....

2023-05-11 at 1:07 AM UTCI think I've been dissociating for awhile and that's the only reason I'm functioning. It feels like I'm suppressing memories from the past months and maybe a part of myself.

Originally posted by Ecto the plasm Graham Allison's argument was that it is theoretically possible for individuals with relatively modest means and expertise to create a nuclear weapon using a small amount of fissionable material and readily available equipment. He claimed that with the right materials, several master's level engineering students with several hundred thousand dollars and off-the-shelf equipment could make a device that would explode. This claim is based on the fact that nuclear weapons are fundamentally simple devices, relying on the basic principles of nuclear physics to release a tremendous amount of energy. Allison argued that the greatest obstacle to building a nuclear weapon is obtaining the necessary fissionable material, such as highly enriched uranium or plutonium. However, he noted that with the right connections, it is possible for determined individuals to obtain such material on the black market. Overall, Allison's argument highlights the need for strong international efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and secure existing nuclear material.
yeah a gun-type nuclear weapon just uses explosives to blast fissile materials at each other; getting the Uranium or Plutonium enriched is how tall you need to be to ride. nothing else is really even a secret
biochemical weapons are more practical and much easier to make than nuclear though unless you just want to destroy things over a wide area; it's odd nobody really talks about it -
2023-05-11 at 1:50 AM UTCLaser enrichment is a pretty new method, I think it's what Aum Shinrikyo was trying to do, or at least have the equipment for when the research improves in a few years. If they didn't go all skitzo they could have produced Guns, an attack helicopter, all kinds of illegal drugs and weapons, they researched all of them.
They had the advantage of limitless capital and labor, it wasn't a DIY mentality of making it clandestinely.
They bought the schematics for their chemical weapon lab from Russians so that's probably why it was the most successful
Biological and nuclear never even got off the ground, they had university people trying to get anthrax samples, Apparently the head of that division was a fucking retard sci-fi nerd which is why all attempts were hair-brained as fuck.
They had enough chemicals to make tonnes of sarin but only made a few kilograms because nobody there knew how to run an industrial chemical weapons lab.The Kameido incident is the first documented instance of bioterrorism with an aerosol containing B. anthracis. Aum Shinrikyo members testified in 1995 that they were working with B. anthracis, but 6 years passed before the strain was isolated and characterized.
Why the Kameido incident failed to produce any documented cases of anthrax has not been fully explained, but the basis may be multifactorial. A virulent strain of B. anthracis, a sufficient concentration to cause disease, effective aerosolization, and favorable weather conditions would all have been necessary to produce the anthrax epidemic Aum Shinrikyo members said they wanted.
Molecular subtype analysis results demonstrate that the strain used in Kameido was a vaccine strain of B. anthracis without the ability to produce a protective capsule. This strain is generally regarded as nonpathogenic for immunocompetent people and is widely used in livestock without adverse consequences.
Give a bunch of dedicated and funded scientists the most top of the line equipment and they still manage to fuck up things that were discovered decades ago. -
2023-05-11 at 3:07 AM UTCP sure I've had more than 3 litres of water today and still thirst. Idk if it's because of sugar or something else

2023-05-11 at 5:08 AM UTCWondering what I'll do if the exam goes badly. In the past I jumped on a coach to Dublin and got drunk and sat by the docs eating Supermacs. Another time threw my textbook into ditch and went to a butterfly house. Their lives are short so it puts things into perspective.
