2023-04-25 at 8:13 PM UTCFossil fuel industries are actively suing to stop climate change action
The companies that are a huge part of climate change, and climate change denial propaganda, are actively working to slow or prevent action. This is fantastic and will surely be very good for society as a whole.

2023-04-26 at 12:46 PM UTCClimate Inequality Report 2023 (The State of Unequal Contributions to and Unequal Impacts of Climate Change)
The ongoing climate crisis is largely driven by a fraction of the total world population. The top 1% of emitters in the world population are responsible for more CO2 emissions than the bottom 50%, with a 72x higher emissions per capita (tCO2e/person). Additionally, the highest emitters have almost doubled their CO2 footprint since 1990. This 1% population group is responsible for almost 1/4 of the growth in GHG emissions since 1990.
Since 1850, North America and Europe have contributed to half of all accumulated GHG emissions.
Contributions to CO2 emissions are now greater within countries than between countries. In 1990, 62% of global carbon inequality was due to between-country inequality; in 2019, 64% of global carbon inequality was due to within-country inequality. Therefore, simply comparing country-level averages can hide the underlying CO2 contributions of various population groups.
In terms of impacts, certain regions of the world have already experienced losses in agricultural productivity (more than 30% since 1961) due to climate change, with the most acute losses in regions that have contributed only marginally to historical emissions, further reinforcing ongoing inequalities (Figure 11). -

2023-04-26 at 1:49 PM UTCYou'd have to hate your country and everyone in it to push a hoax that's destroying the fabric of society and the futures of the kids.

2023-04-26 at 2:31 PM UTCSpeaking of hoaxes destroying the fabric of society, have you heard that nobody wants to work anymore? And because of that, child labor is making a comeback.
It's a symptom of unfettered capitalism. A bunch of people retired early, became permanently disabled, or straight up died, and the profit machine needs to keep crunching along or else Bad Things Will Happen, so: Child labor! Raise the retirement age, top it off with some forced birth and strictly enforced gender roles for good measure. It's quite simple when you identify the root cause. -
