We get turned away and told to go to the government office where they want $100 for copies of your documents to prove you exist
which you need to apply for welfare/disability
that's part of the reason why they cut me off, I haven't had ID in over a decade. Even my bank doesn't want to service me anymore, I had to get a manager to personally approve a thing for me today just a simple bank thing that shouldn't require so much
I literally have to spend money to use my bank account which is in the negative to even be able to apply for welfare, which will just be denied because I have no ID. The system is broken and homeless folx die every year here, we have a church memorial dedicated to the "Unknown Homeless" that die without any documentation and no medical records either
It's even more common among aboriginal populations, much higher rates of death/suicide
Americans are all brainwashed if you think we don't have poverty, poor communities, starvation, guns, murder, etc
Like even the smallest American towns with like 100k people have more jobs and wealth than some of Canada's biggest communities, and yet all Americans do is bitch and moan about every little thing and cry to the government for any slight against them
or blame minorities
Americans have it on easy mode, y'all don't know about suffering and hardship living in fucking USA NUMBER 1 FREEDOM and I seriously doubt any of you would last long in a similar situation.
How many Canadian members of this forum have suicided? Zero.

The closest suburb to me has 3 homeless encampments, I think I made a thread about it before. The one I've been driving by most often lately is on a ballfield that is definitely going to have kids wanting to play on it soon. In another part of the city there are "DA PODS" which are little sectional trailer looking structures which have become an open air drug market. You have to be approved to live there and it's in a super central location that thankfully doesn't have much residential housing around. SHIT IZ REAL -

Despite sharing a border with the biggest gun ownership country on earth, we have a magical Canadian forcefield that makes all firearms vanish and legend has it they reappear deep beneath Sable Island, people have been digging there for treasure for decades.
What's also strange is this island is located in Nova Scotia, home to the deadliest mass shooting in Canada.
