Yesterday I impulsively rented a condo in Port Clinton Ohio in hopes of spending some time at the beach but things went south when my good heart invited my mom and told her to bring my niece too if she could. Immediatly my mom took offense that there would be 5 or 6 people sharing 1 bathroom and then was upset it was not at the ocean. I can't do the fucking ocean right now because I don't want to have a 3 year old in the car with me that long.
Things got even worse when I realized I could get a condo in the same complex for half the price if I had rented one that wasn't directly on the water and instead a couple hundred feet away.
The only saving grace to any of this is that if I keep the condo rental it comes with a bottle of wine that I can drink before I wander into the lake and drown myself.
And the fact I have until midnight to cancel the rental and figure something else out.
So today I woke up at 2am to piss and was so annoyed that I couldn't go back to bed. I've been on VRBO dragging the coast looking for rentals ON THE BEACH for 4 nights in the middle of June.
I'm leaning toward telling everyone to get fucked and booking a place in Michigan as it just sounds idk... better?
Port Clinton has islands and my wife likes the idea of going to an island. I don't know if I told her or not that I went to them once and it was pretty much golf carts and trinkets but I'd do it again.
Was checking out Geneva-on-the-Lake too but there is not much as far as a beach goes in my price range.
Any ideas on where to go within 6 hours of Dayton that has a beach?
I'm trying to keep it under $2k for the rental.

Your mom reminds me of Groceries Girl. Always complaining and wanting to be at the ocean despite being from a city 1000 miles away from saltwater.

Tell them you feel sick and need to cancel, why don't you focus on yourself and come visit Miami? You can see the ocean and get away from your family.
