I had no problem buying women drinks in a bar (even some men if they were conversationalists...not for sexual favors of course). Buying drinks etc when you are socializing is and should be part of your normal behavior. It's not like it's a big deal or a lot of money...if you think it is a lot of money then you probably shouldn't be in bars trying to pick up chicks.
It's just one of the expenses involved in "the game of life". I'm (was) a pretty "hands on" person...so I guess that would be what I used instead of compliments and 8/10 women warmed to it if I put my arm around them...after all, most of them were at the bar also looking for "love" (obviously you don't include the ones already there with their boyfriend/husband etc.
Also approaching women when they are with their friends is also a good move...they like the ballsy attitude that you're not afraid to be verbally beat down by her friends etc.
Always have a couple of stiff drinks before you leave the house to take the edge off nigger. -

When I was 18 I was hitting on older women...not 18yr olds.
When I was in my barfly stage here in the US (age 35-40) I was hitting on women aged around 24-35 (obviously you don't get many 18yr olds in bars in the USA because of the age 21 thing). -

If you have 100 men saying "wow you're beautiful" day in day out...compliments are pretty insignificant from strangers. You have to remember women get compliment 10000x more than men do...so if a woman compliments you sure you like it and it makes you feel good...if a woman gets complimented by a man in a bar she's probably thinking "oh no, not again...another creep trying to get in my pants".
Stop complimenting them dude, talk to them like a normal person and not a simp. -
