How to check if my cheap VPS server disk is SSD or HDD?

    You can use the command "lsblk -d -o name, rota" in the terminal to check if your cheap vps server disk is SSD or HDD. This command lists all the available block devices on the system and their rotational status. If the value of "rota" is 0, it means that the device is an SSD, since SSDs do not have any moving parts and do not rotate. If the value is 1, it means that the device is a traditional HDD that has spinning platters and does rotate. Therefore, by running this command, you can easily check whether your cheap VPS server disk is an SSD or an HDD.

    a cheap vps server isn't going to expose the actual storage hardware, it'll just be a virtual block device
