On Jan. 27, what started with a state trooper checking on Landon Eastep, 37, who was walking along Interstate 65, escalated into a multi-agency response and nine officers fatally shooting Eastep.
Eastep was holding a box cutter during the tense 30-minute standoff and pulled a metal, cylindrical object out of his pocket before nine officers from three agencies fatally shot him, officials said. The object was not a weapon.
Retard, never pull an object out of your pocket when the po-po has a gun pointed at ya. I'd shoot someone that did that, you don't have time to go check it out or you be deaded.
I've known a few cops and lots just itching to cap someone, keep that in mind next time you interact with them.

Private police would have sniped them with rubber bullets and tranq darts and they wake up in a drunk tank covered in piss , no harm no foal They would also send you a bill afterwards that would cripple you financially for life, no prison sneeded
I have no idea what happened prior and no interest in it, just saying that the moment we actually see is so clearly suicide-by-cop. Or sure seems like it.

dunno why they couldn't have tasered or beanbagged him, but if you charge down a bunch of people with guns pointed at you (cops or not) you can't expect to have a good time

Taser and beanbag don't work on everyone...if you suspect someone has a gun or knife and is a threat to you or others then you shoot them, that's the training and rightfully so.

he was standing in the road with his knife out for a while, they had plenty of time to try
There's no such thing as a beanbag "not working" in any way that a bullet would not except penetration. It is all the same energy delivered but at a larger crossection. Larger loads and variously massive projectiles can be used to adjust their impact.
Also in real world situations, the immediate stopping power of actual bullets is almost entirely psychological (yes including headshots) and a response to pain and force, not to the disruption of biological functions unless the brain stem or heart is destroyed. The "immediate, reliable stopping power" assumption for firearms in general is a myth.
Point being that beanbags are underrated. I know why they aren't prevalent but they are unjustifiably downplayed.
Tasers in particular are complete garbage. Worthless trash meant to profit from taxpayers.

Um sure there is...the "not working" part would be the guy shooting a real bullet back at you. You shoot to kill so the perp doesn't have a chance of responding to your beanbag.
