Selling ads sounds like it sucks. Look at sites like rapidgator and keep2share who pay you per view/download. The files you put on there gets people to subscribe, or keeps them coming back. Also commissions for converting new subscribers

I don't know how they operate and turn a profit to be honest, would've expected them to be blacklisted from ad referral programs already
it might be a technicality because the site owners don't directly upload content, 'users' (the most prolific ones are probably the site owners) do, so the site can't be held responsible as long as copyrighted videos are removed quickly (even if they're reuploaded again a few minutes later)
