Rent it out and let the new renter live there rent free for 2 or 3 months if he/she cleans it up first. -

I'm sure, but if you want to use the space for something other than a garage the ceiling is an extra insulation layer..or you could widen the opening and install a spiral staircase (and flooring assuming the beams are load bearing) relatively cheaply and use the attic as extra space/storage space. -
2023-03-23 at 2:09 PM UTCI have to decide if it should be habitable or not. If so I think I would have some creepy 40s style room, some decorating experiment that wouldn't look right in the house. That would be more work and I couldn't do it alone. If not then maybe just a cleaner garage.
