but this is only part of the story. same rules apply, but not everyone is playing with the same referee. by which i mean the experience of hunger is qualia: 'don't eat a shitload more than you need' is an easy rule to follow with a friendly ref (ie hunger manifests as merely a sensation or mild discomfort). when the ref's a dick, he's constantly on your ass so hard he might as well be in your ass (ie hunger hurts. a lot). im toward that end of the spectrum. hunger pangs are hunger pains.
still fucking goofy to try and normalize being a fatass as healthy or attractive, but equally fucking goofy when people moralize about how easy it is to just not eat too much. like telling a blind nigga "it's so easy to see the color blue, bro, you're just a piece of shit". -

2023-03-13 at 7:33 AM UTChow would you even know whether or not it's more 'painful' for you than anyone else, anyway? not like pain can really be measured objectively, doctors mostly just rely on blood pressure and brain activity

pain is a feeling, and as feelings are all just electrical signals, they can all be measured.
we just need to find out how. -

this is what i mean: qualia. you have no idea the level of discomfort another person is feeling. you're basing it off your own experience with hunger and assuming it must be comparable, but there's no guarantee that it is. "pain is a part of life" is like... nigga would you tell that to someone with a migraine? 'suck it up buttercup' is all well and good, but you are literally asking for potentially excruciating pain to be a daily part of people's lives. it could feels as bad as a gunshot wound would feel to you. you have no idea what the conscious experience of that pain is like for another person.
get it? -

2023-03-13 at 7:36 AM UTCi'm not saying it is a gunshot wound tier pain, but the level of pain *might* differ. it is, in fact, qualia. and the fact that some people are so flippant about it leads me to suspect that yeah: our experiences of that pain definitely differ significantly.

yeah, nobody does, all we have is statistical data.
if migraines compelled people to eat so much that they became a burden on the people around them, the healthcare system and the state on the whole, yes I would tell them to suck it up, but because migraines don't do that I don't really know what you're getting at -

Like I said, it's fucking goofy to normalize it as healthy or attractive. But it's similarly goofy to moralize about it as if it's something easy. "Just put down a fork" might be "be a bit uncomfy" for you and "just stab a needle into your eyeball" for lizzo. Totally different tiers of request. -
2023-03-13 at 7:41 AM UTCI'd be ok with lizzo getting stabbed in the eyeball
seriously though would you make the same argument for niggers robbing people or shooting each other? it should be accepted because it might hurt them if they can't? -

No. Are you retarded? What does "not robbing people" feel like? Thirst is a sensation. Hunger is a sensation. Physical sensations, aldra. If thirst felt like getting kicked in the balls to you, you would be the most hydrated motherfucker alive.
I'm also not saying it should be accepted, I'm just saying you shouldn't be a cunt about it. -

actually kind of funny that I've seen a few cases where charges were dropped because it was considered 'mutual combat'
but my point is that obesity not only harms the person who is obese but also puts a burden on everyone around them, especially the healthcare apparatus that invariably ends up keeping them alive. that's just an obese person, which isn't such an issue if they're far enough between, but trying to normalise obesity as a 'healthy lifestyle choice' when it absolutely isn't grows those numbers exponentially. keeping them alive is not cheap and always comes at the expense of something else, and it's disgusting to see people who die or can't get or afford medical treatment because the system is being overwhelmed by people who look like space hoppers because 'muh glands'. -
