2023-03-06 at 5:08 PM UTCI believe (without googling) it takes about 7yrs study in the US to become a doctor, in Iran it takes 2 weeks and 3 goats.

2023-03-07 at 2:12 PM UTCI had an Iranian guy working for me at Compaq...he wore a really obvious wig and the other guys would take the piss out of him...UNTIL ONE DAY...he explained back in Iran he was a nuclear scientist and was arrested by the gov for refusing to work on their "projects". They beat him to near death and he escaped and came to the US.
He took his wig off and had a 10" long 1" wide red fiery scar on his near bald head he said he got from the beatings and torture.
His name was Mahmud. we just called him "Moody"
It always felt weird after that telling a former nuclear scientist he put his pallet in the wrong place. -

I ran the returns department, wasn't a director...my official title was Electronic Technician II because Compaq categorized their employees not by what you did but what they felt the position should pay.
I had between 80 and 103 (mostly black and hispanic) temps working for me (across 3 shifts)...it varied so much as I used to fire a lot as they were worthless. The temp agency kept sending me the dregs of society. -

True.
I remember the day HP "merged" (re: took over) Compaq...I was sitting at home eating my dinner and exwife #1 came in and said "You never told me HP was buying Compaq"...I said "um what?"...checked the news and then said "I guess I'll be out of a job soon"..
..and sure enough about a year later HP outsourced pretty much everything to Foxconn and we were OUT!...after they paid us extra to stay on for 3 months and clear the backlog of return/repair trailers..there were 132 trailers full of computers we had to process...we got a "fuck off" bonus if we cleared them all before our layoff date...of course we did. -
