Because it looks like the future to me.

I predicated light based internet many years ago

Transmit a particle beam into the house which then constructs the physical form of a receiver/transmitter in mid air, possibly even invisibly, and wirelessly transmits all sounds in the house to a remote location. Totally plausible.

2023-03-06 at 8:58 AM UTCusing lasers for fast, reliable data transmission while using short bursts of radio energy for calibration and beamforming could be useful for fast data transmission over long distance but there are too many downsides for general use
light needs straight lines, curvature of the earth limits use
light can't penetrate walls and obstacles, doesn't bounce around as well as radio
susceptible to clouds and other reflective materials in the air
laser calibration would require the transmitter and receiver to be mechanically calibrated to point at each other, is only really feasible for static applications -
2023-03-06 at 9 AM UTCusing LEDs like OP, I just don't see any benefit to doing that over standard radio transmission
theoretically higher bandwidth I guess, but you'd need to have transmitter and receiver really close and I can't think of any situation where it's a better idea than fibre optics -
2023-03-06 at 1:50 PM UTCIt's what a chinaman calls wifi

RIght now there is, but usually the first step into unlocking the true potential of this kind of tech is by making open source protocols

LEDs seems kinda like the wrong light. There's lots of "light", like isn't xray technically a waveform of light or whatever? Lots of potential

Communist shitniggers block all internet, All global ISP's comply and make VPN's illegal as well and every darknet node is watched. WHAT TGEB -

no. this, is wrong.
as with everything, the best way to truly unlock its true potential is to hand it over to defense contractors and try to find military application for it. -

Yes, as a matter of fact I do
and I want to pay with Litecoin ticker LTC not through fiber optic internet but a BATMAN intrameshnet that shoots the signal into a transmitter space laser and beams it to the chinese central credit score space servers and then sends the beam of light back down, through my crotch giving me an orgasm AND my receipt, in bytecode all done through lightning nodes and wireless wave tech that requires almost zero footprint infastructure or electricity

This is also true, open source and then the government steals it, copies it and makes a better version. But usually they find stuff before it becomes part of something made open source and pay the person to leave it out -

by making it open sourced and having dozens of forks of it it makes it harder for defense contractors to pick one to further develope it. -
2023-03-06 at 2:46 PM UTCthey pick it before a fork can even be made. You don't hear about it when it happens, they are pretty good at finding stuff though and sometimes people suspect a project was gutted first and the people are just making it open source, now under contract so they can't tell anyone but hoping that some autist figures it out.
I suspect there's something like that among the TOR/XMR privacy community -

how many evidences of this do you currently have ?
no ?
the fact that you *think* tor coukd be such suggests you lack actual, tangible facts to support your stated belief. -

Wel tor was invented by the US government so there's that. It's proven to not be backdoored but still the entire infosec black/white hat isn't all HACKERS WITH A CAUSE
lots of ex/future military shit going on there above my head. Snowden and whats his face, hacker crackers idk im not a big info security tech guy, I don't watch DEFCON symposium every year and follow them all on mastodon so I don't know what's cool or whatever but I do read a lot of adjacent article type stuff and if I know about it i'm either skitzo insane or it's pretty commonly known about. -

2023-03-06 at 4:38 PM UTCIt's the public internet's 30th birthday next month.
The World Wide Web announced that it was for everybody. On April 30, 1993, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) put the web into the public domain a decision that has fundamentally altered the past quarter-century. (article from 5yrs ago obviously) -

Truth is folks there is no global network, no internet, it's ALL a wave of the hands magic trick to keep you slurping and asking for seconds. I should be discouraged and "wake up" to the world around me, fall in line etc but today is showing me more than ever, not only do I need the sneakernet batmesh but so does everyone else. I'm getting off this corrupt network and will build on fidonet, we tried to play along but it still wasn't good enough
