"Hunger cliff" looms as 32 states set to slash food-stamp benefits

The cuts will impact more than 30 million people who are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, in those states, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Among the states where recipients are facing cuts are California and Texas, which have greatest number of people on SNAP, at 5.1 million and 3.6 million recipients, respectively.

While they're handing out hundreds of billions of tax dollars to foreign countries. Go figure.

It's just another ruse to make people feel better about their existence.

If you can't think of any examples of human rights that do not involve costs or people's time, why would "cost or time" preclude something from being a human right?

Why do you believe human rights require belief in a higher power to exist? Do you ignore the human rights protected by municipal and international laws? Would you ever volunteer to exclude yourself from such protection, considering you don't believe you actually have any rights?

Human rights don't exist, I thought I made that clear. There isn't 1 perceived "human right" that can be stripped from you with a bullet to the back of the head.

Healthcare does exist, that costs time, resources and other peoples money...there is no such thing as "free" either...there is a cost for everything.

Believing in "human rights" and "free" is clearly a mental illness, you should seek treatment for that...but make sure you PAY for it rather than passing the cost burden on to others.

these bigger men are called righteous and just men.

a small man such as yourself would never understand, either the theory or the concept.

No, quite literally all you stated was you don't believe human rights exist. Which is why I asked you why do you believe human rights require belief in a higher power to exist? Do you ignore the human rights protected by municipal and international laws? Would you ever volunteer to exclude yourself from such protection, considering you don't believe you actually have any rights?

Well now I've clarified it for you, Human rights don't exist...just as god doesn't exist or ghosties, bigfoot, little green men abducting cows and farmers, wariat's love life, Santa, spring heeled Jack, magic, a non corrupt politician etc etc.

Might I recommend Hans Christian Andersen for further reading.

You've asserted that but you haven't clarified that at all.

Sure I have, as mentioned there isn't 1 human right you can name that can't be easily removed from you with a bullet to the back of the head.

Why do you believe human rights need to be bullet proof to exist?
  14. Originally posted by Obbe Why do you believe human rights need to be bullet proof to exist?

Because if an entitlement can be removed so quickly and easily it's pretty worthless in the grand scheme of things...you're straying way off the point though...more pertinent to the conversation re: healthcare, is the fact "FREE" doesn't exist.
  15. "Who gives us our human rights?
The United Nations was founded in 1945. The United Nations allowed more than 50 Member States to contribute to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948. This was the first attempt to set out at a global level the fundamental rights and freedoms shared by all human beings."

    FUCKING LOL...the UN.

The value of a dollar can be destroyed with a lighter... does that make all the dollars in the world worthless?

Why are you fighting that strawman you built yourself? I never claimed "free anything" existed.

    You implied it here...

otherwise what was the implication?..again there is a cost to everything, your question is moot.

I didn't imply anything, only asked if those things go should be treated as commodities or human rights. Obviously these things involve costs and time, regardless of their status as a "right" or as a "commodity".
