Guys i got my telescope i got 2 yrs ago for xmas working and its fucking awesome
I can see the craters on the moon hella and im still just messing with the lowest magnification
My grandpa has a superbadass telescope he said i could have today so im gonna go over there and hang with him for a bit and set it up. Cant stay too long tho grandpa keeps the house at like fuciing 75 degrees lol. Last month his electric bill was 800 dollars lol, i cant wait to be like him when im that age. I love old people. Specifically old people that worked their whole lives and can now die on their terms. Save ur money folx so u can have $1000 electric bills every month and not even bat an eye

yes, this is because metabolism ceases once you perish meaning the average homeotherm will no-longer be warmer than the ambient temperature of their environment. when you kill somebody, within a day the body will have cooled (or warmed!) to the temperature of its surroundings ie 'room temperature'. to make somebody room temperature, therefore, would imply you mean to kill them (else put them out in the cold for a very precise length of time, so that upon re-entering the 'room' their body will be - at least to the touch - 'room temperature'). thank you, special.

are you raising the chicken? growing wheat and milling it into flour? are you globetrotting to find the requisite herbs and spices? scratch that, are you god? did you make chickens? did you make wheat? like conceptually?
okay this is a terrible example but like, i just mean when you say "making a telescope from scratch" does that involve making the lenses? making the glass to make the lenses? that last bit is probs a bit much but like if you get glass blanks you have to polish into a lens, that feels like a "kit"
really in this case its the juxtaposition of 'from a kit' with 'from scratch' like im trying to envision what making a telescope without making it from a kit would look like and it involved a lot of glassblowing or at least grinding/polishing.
I don't think he has the tooling required to machine the lenses and mirrors and shit, I'm just talking about the enclosure in this case
ie you'd need to cut grooves and channels to be able to adjust the position of the lenses as well as have tolerances tight enough that they don't fall out of place, dunno how plausible something like that would be

I'm at my grandmother's place, it's depressing as shit because she's not well and the property is totally overgrown.
grandfather put a lot of work into it in the 10-20 years before he died, now there's not a whole lot left. I've been trying to help clean it up but it's not going to last.
it's around 1am and there are big possums rampaging around on the roof, it sounds like there are little kids up there running on the tiles.
one of the dogs got into a fight with a massive wombat recently; the dog was biting the shit out of it so the wombat rammed him into a tree and fucked up his leg. the other one had a run in with a snake but didn't get bitten.
