   Also, why oblique instead of italics? It's supposed to be italics anyway because of the i.

   Most browsers won't actually render in italics, many typefaces don't even have an italic form. Usually you just get oblique. But the idiom is to use "i" anyway, and most people don't know the difference, so I didn't want to change the tag name (would also conflict with "overline")
