    While it's been a slow motion trainwreck the Federal officials who model the river, who are typically dismissive of catastrophic terms, have essentially U-turned and are now admitting there will be catastrophic consequences for the West. Apparently their models of snowpack and climate forecasts show dead pools are now a real possibility for all reservoirs on the Colorado with unbelievable consequences for the West. Power generation will stop, drinking water will be harder to come by, agriculture will be impacted.
