   they wouldn't know if you ran your own vpn server on some backwater VPS.
   
   but still, you can route your server traffic through your normal eth0 rather than tun0, you just add something like this to your vpn client config for whatever network you want to avoid the vpn.

   be careful because if you're not actually running openvpn (e.g. process killed or forgotten for some reason), then it'll be moot.
   
   better to also have a rule like '-A OUTPUT -d 103.114.191.0/24 ! -o tun0 -j DROP'
   
   it doesn't protect you if IP addresses change, but the chances of you fucking up on so many levels is slim.
